Day 3 of Molly Porsche on the Samurai Challenge Rally

It's only day 2 of the actual rally but for some reason the rally organisers called the signing on day as 1 and the start of the driving as day 2, hope that's all clear.
This day was not that great, we started off well, we had a fabulous drive up to the museum and close to the rim of Mount Aso a still active volcano. It was a shame the lift right up to the rim was closed but still an impressive sight.
From there we went to a local school to plant 7 flowering cherry trees. This school was destroyed last year in an earthquake. No one was hurt but the school had to be rebuilt.
The mayor of the town and all the kids turned out to see us. Quite magical. They had never seen a bald man before and they now think all bald men are called David San:)
From here we went to a Autopolis race circuit. Here we did some timed laps. Molly is never going to win or even get in the top 10 on this sort of test, both her and the driver are just not fast enough. And on this occasion the driver and navigator couldn'the count either, we did one too many laps, which although great fun did not help our lap time. Never mind.
We then proceeded to drive to the next test on the wrong side of the road and nearly went head on into some of the other competitors.
Having got back on the right side of the road we took part in a driving test which we actuality managed to do quite well at.
We then had to do a regulatory where we missed the final turning and then eased off and chatted for a while only to find out that we were still meant to be driving against the clock. When we did saunter into the final check Point we were well and truly late. Never mind again.
The drive from there to the hotel was fraud with navigational problems, which turned out not to be our fault but those of the distances in the road book.
We arrived at the hotel slightly frazzled and tired. Never mind, tomorrow is another day.
We think we are 21st overall and 5th in class, but we are not sure.

Sorry there are no photos Google is not working at the moment:(  should be a whole load tomorrow:)
